Lisa Tessier-Burch
Lisa Tessier-Burch is an educator and advocate who lives with her husband and two daughters in Portage la Prairie. She grew up in Thompson, Manitoba but has lived and worked in Portage la Prairie since 2008.
Lisa Tessier-Burch has been an educator for over 17 years, most of them in Portage la Prairie. She believes in investing and supporting our youth. She has served on many committees at both the regional and provincial levels to implement and advance French Immersion education opportunities.
In addition to her work as an education advocate, Tessier-Burch is committed to advancing human rights in our province. She served on the teacher-advisory committee for the Canadian Museum for Human Rights to help design and implement educational programming for Manitoba students.
Tessier-Burch also believes in supporting educators and all workers. She has been a member of the Portage Teachers Association executive since 2018. Tessier-Burch currently serves as the Education Finance representative on behalf of educators in Portage La Prairie.
As an active member of the community, Lisa Tessier-Burch has been involved in the arts, assisting in community theatre and arts programming for young people in her community.
Tessier-Burch believes the people of Portage-Lisgar should have a progressive choice in this by-election. She has witnessed first-hand how government spending cuts have impacted the people in Portage-Lisgar. She believes that federal investments are key from healthcare to infrastructure.
If elected, Tessier-Burch will advocate for the people of the Portage-Lisgar riding to ensure a better standard of living for all.
